The introduction of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT of Dentium make) at SVSIDS is specifically dedicated to image the maxillofacial region heralding a major shift from two dimensional (2D) to three dimensional (3D) thereby nourishing the academic strength and patient care. It provides a complete 3D view of maxillofacial structures, teeth and supporting structures with a relatively high resolution allowing precise evaluation. Low cost burden on the patients with minimal radiation exposure marks the essentially of it in today’s radio-diagnostic era to conventional CT.
