At SVS Institute of Dental Sciences (SVSIDS), we strongly believe that quality oral healthcare is a fundamental right and should be accessible to every individual, regardless of economic background or social circumstances. Guided by this commitment to social responsibility and community service, the Department of Public Health Dentistry actively reaches underserved populations through extensive outreach initiatives aimed at improving oral health awareness, prevention, and treatment.

As part of its sustained social outreach mission, the department has conducted more than 1,000 free dental screening and treatment camps across rural, semi-urban, and urban communities. These initiatives are designed not only to provide essential dental care, but also to create awareness about oral hygiene, preventive dentistry, healthy lifestyle practices, and early intervention for oral diseases.

SVSIDS has adopted villages, schools, orphanages, blind schools, and special schools as part of its long-term community engagement program. Through these initiatives, the institution provides free dental check-ups, preventive care, oral health education, and treatment services to children, adults, and vulnerable groups who may otherwise have limited access to professional dental care.

The department is also equipped with a mobile dental van with two dental chairs, enabling the team to deliver doorstep dental services in remote and underserved areas. Through its outreach programs, the department has provided care to more than 40,000 patients, conducted oral health awareness programs across Mahabubnagar district and adjoining regions, and received appreciation for its dedicated public health efforts.

In addition to dental camps and awareness programs, the department actively operates a Tobacco Cessation Clinic and offers patient counselling services to support healthier lifestyles and disease prevention. As part of its commitment to social welfare and community service under NSS, the institution also organizes programs such as anti-tobacco rallies, blood donation camps, and Haritha Haram (tree plantation) activities.
